Sauquoit Creek Floodplain Restoration

The Sauquoit Creek Floodplain Restoration project will mitigate flooding in Oneida County through the removal of a commercial plaza in the Village of Whitesboro, making way for the restoration of over 8,000 linear feet of the Sauquoit Creek. GIGP funds will support the restoration of the historic channel alignment through the excavation of flood plain benches along both banks of the creek.
