EMPIRE STATE DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCES NEW DIRECTOR OF CAPITAL REGION ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
Empire State Development (ESD) today announced the appointment of Michael J. Yevoli as Regional Director of the Capital Region. In his new position, Mr. Yevoli, who previously served as Director of Development and Planning at Columbia Development Companies, will work under the leadership of ESD President, CEO & Commissioner Howard Zemsky. Mr. Yevoli will manage daily operations of the Capital Region office in Troy and promote economic development policies to attract and retain businesses and create jobs in the region. Additionally, Mr. Yevoli will serve as Executive Director of the Capital Region Economic Development Council (CREDC), where he will lead the implementation of the region’s strategic plan.
“Michael Yevoli brings more than two decades of economic development experience to ESD and the Capital Region Economic Development Council,” said ESD President, CEO & Commissioner Howard Zemsky. “Michael will play a vital role in helping the Council implement its strategic plan, while working to spur job creation and strengthen the regional economy.”
In his former role as Director of Development and Planning at Columbia Development Companies, Mr. Yevoli led the Fifteenth Street Housing project in Troy, which consists of a $7 million investment in 26 properties, including 213 beds for student housing. In addition, Yevoli managed Vista Technology Campus in Bethlehem. Prior to his role as Director of Development and Planning, Mr. Yevoli served as President of Capitalize Albany Corporation and Commissioner of the City of Albany Department of Development and Planning.

Arnold Will, ESD’s Deputy Regional Director, who served as the region’s Acting Director will remain with the Capital Region office and assist with the transition.
