Mason Farms Operating Co., LLC will construct and operate major processing and packing facilities at their farmstead located at 3135 Ridge Road, Williamson, Wayne County, NY. This project will be executed in two phases. Phase I, to be constructed from March 2019 to June 2019, will add a 9,360 sf sweet corn processing facility that will allow for production of up to 20,000 cases of organic and conventional sweet corn per week, in 4 and 5 ear packages. This facility when operational in mid 2019, will employ 75 FTE working two shifts to produce the sweet corn necessary to supply newly established markets. Equipment added will include all cutting, cleaning packaging and handling equipment for the corn, water handling and washing equipment, a new sweet corn harvester, a vacuum cooler to cool the corn before shipment, two fork lifts and a self contained controlled environment bin system for produce storage. Phase II, to be constructed March 2020-December 2021 will include a processing and packaging system for all the fruit and produce Mason Farms handles, and a cold storage and CA storage facility. This 89,500 s.f. facility will cost $13.1 mil. and employ an additional 14 workers.
