The Geneva YMCA will construct a 9,600 square foot addition and extensive renovations to it s existing facility located at 399 William St. in Geneva, NY. This project will create a new wellness/fitness center for cardio and weight training; a healthy living center for cancer survivors and to support chronic disease management including diabetes and obesity in youth and adults; an expanded more secure childcare center for our preschool, afterschool and summer camp programs which address important youth issues in our community such as improving literacy scores, improving childhood obesity and addressing the summer achievement gap; a multi-generational lounge that will offer seniors during the day and teens in the evening a place to gather, socialize and remain positively engaged; a new childwatch center to keep children ages 6 weeks - 12 years safe and actively while parents use the facility; a new gymnasium floor and updated lighting improving the safety and usability of the gym; completely renovated locker rooms for both adults and children; an an expanded entrance and welcome center area; and an elevator to ensure full facility access for everyone.
