The Town facility was built in 2009, as an energy efficient manufactured/prefabricated steel building system. The proposed project will be converting an inherited abandoned missile silo, which is back flooded with ground water, to a geothermal well for heating and cooling the facility, as well as a tracking solar array to achieve Net Zero Energy performance. The town completed a feasibility study and installed some piping as part of the initial construction project.
