Port Chester Waterfront Revitalization Project

The Village of Port Chester seeks deliver a project that will serve as a regional draw and attract both visitors and investment to the waterfront. This proposal strictly seeks $2 Million in funding to assist with various improvements planned for the waterfront. Funds have already been secured for the design and reconstruction of the waterfront's bulkhead, ESD funding will be allocated to design elements, enhancements, and construction of a waterfront promenade that integrates elements from Port Chester's past, present, and future. Specific planned projects include pedestrian plazas, a pedestrian bridge, a kayak launch, and the construction of 140 new boat slips. In addition to infrastructure improvements, the Village is aggressively pursuing the beautification of the downtown area, specifically the Waterfront, in order to attract new business, stimulate economic development, and attract new visitors. Anticipated improvements include: new sidewalks, pavers, lighting, trees, curbs, and traffic calming measures such as bump-outs in order to foster outdoor dining and encourage multi-modal transportation for residents, visitors, and local workers.
