Tyoga Container is a 49-year-old company that customizes packaging and shipping solutions for commercial customers through the manufacture of corrugated boxes, corrugated dunnage and pallets. While the home office is in Tioga, PA, the company would like to relocate its pallet and dunnage divisions to a former foundry site in Painted Post, NY. The chosen site in Painted Post has not seen commercial activity since a former foundry closed in 1986. Due to its past use, the property requires site work and is a focal point for redevelopment within the designated Brownfield Opportunity Area. The project includes 140,000 sq. ft. of new manufacturing and warehouse space plus the purchase of manufacturing equipment. Management anticipates hiring 42people to staff the facility. This 2nd location will allow the company to double its current operating capacity through warehouse storage, improved production flow and additional manufacturing lines outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment. The new equipment being purchased anticipates growth tripling in the dunnage and pallet lines in the next 3 to 5 years as a result of the move to NY, with new customers coming from Canada and Mexico.
