Downtown Livingston Brand Development and Implementation Plan

Based on recommendations from their 2016 Economic Development Strategic Plan, and a 2017 Commercial District Analysis, Livingston County would like to develop a Downtown Marketing Plan which will promote the nine downtown districts of the county in an effort to attract new businesses, residents, and visitors. The plan will include development of a brand for each of the County s downtown districts along with an overarching brand which will embrace the distinct qualities of each district. Marketing templates will be created which will be used as part of a retail attraction program focusing on leakage categories identified through the Commercial District Analysis. A style guide will be developed which will assist communities in implementing their brand through wayfinding signage, gateway signage, banners, community ads, etc. Implementation of the Downtown Marketing Plan will commence immediately and is expected to attract businesses which will create jobs and add to critical mass in the downtowns, in turn strengthening existing businesses. Long term outcomes will include the attraction of new residents and visitors to the downtowns supporting businesses
