Poultry Slaughter Expansion Project

DeMaria’s Hemlock Hill Farm, LLC is a third generation diversified livestock farm established in 1939, located in Cortlandt, New York. The farm raises pastured poultry, including heritage laying hens, meat chickens, turkeys and pasture raised beef cattle.  The farm built and operates a slaughter facility under the business name Macelleria DeMaria, LLC which provides slaughter service to outside customers and to Hemlock Hill Farm on a fee for service basis.  All livestock raised by Hemlock Hill Farm is marketed through the DeMaria’s Hemlock Hill Farm store directly to consumers and throughout the Lower Hudson Valley (mostly Westchester County)_of New York State to higher end restaurants and food service accounts.  The subject of this Consolidated Funding Application is  their intention to expand their slaughter facility to accomodate the increased slaughter of chickens and other poultry, in order to operate under USDA inspection.  Hemlock Hill Farm will make this project possible through investment of capital resources, labor, and management effort, to expand their footprint including new equipment and facilities that will allow them to slaughter poultry under USDA inspection.
