BestSelf Behavioral Health acquired 899 Main Street located on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus in Buffalo NY. The renovation project will transform 899 Main into a 66,432 sq. ft. facility that will allow for the relocation and expansion of the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) at BestSelf and the consolidation of BestSelf’s administrative offices in one location. The interior of the existing 3-level, 50,182 sq. ft. building has been demolished and will be renovated. Plans include building a 4th level adding another 16,250 sq. ft., a community training center and a retail coffee shop. At the CAC’s current location, it is only able to assist 30% of the estimated 3,000 cases of child abuse annually due to inadequate space. At 899 Main, the CAC will occupy the entire 2nd floor which will significantly increase capacity enabling it to assist all the children in need of its services. The expanded CAC also allows for the co-location of partner organizations including law enforcement, prosecutors, child protective services, medical professionals, mental health counselors and advocates. Fully handicap accessible, it is located on a major bus line with easy access for clients and staff.
