CFA grant funding will assist FALA Technologies (FALA) in the purchasing of advanced manufacturing equipment used to build custom equipment for the semiconductor, aerospace, transportation, military and industrial products industries. The equipment purchased will replace outdated machines that lack the controls and software technologies that are taught and used by students in many of today’s NYS BOCES, community colleges and technical trade schools. Use of this equipment will enable FALA’s master craftsman to more seamlessly train new hires enrolled in NYS Registered Apprenticeship programs. FALA’s skilled staff are retiring, and apprenticeship training is strategically important to creating our next generation of skilled workforce. FALA also developed and teaches an industry pre-apprenticeship program called STEPs to prepare individuals from underrepresented USDOL targeted workforce populations, including individuals with disabilities, to enter registered apprenticeships. The equipment funded by this CFA grant will help advance FALA’s apprenticeship training.
