The Solar 2 environmental education center will be located on the East River waterfront in Stuyvesant Cove Park. It will be a site of innovative and interactive public programming and a source of economic and community vitality on a former brownfield site. Situated within the East Side Coastal Resiliency (ESCR) Project, Solar 2 will be LEED-certified, flood-resistant, with a solar-plus-battery-storage system. Solar 2 will be a teaching tool and model in the fight against climate change.
