Waterfront Revitalization Priority Project Advancement in Clinton and Essex Counties

This multi-component project will advance priority recommendations for sustainable tourism development in several areas. The North Country Chamber of Commerce and the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism will advance destination planning in Clinton and Essex counties. The Town of Saranac will develop local land management tools and conduct a feasibility study for locally-produced biomass fuels for energy. The Village of Rouses Point will conduct a redevelopment study for the historic Fort Montgomery site. The City of Plattsburgh, Town of Plattsburgh and Town of Saranac will advance planning and design for the Saranac River Trail Project, a multi-use trail linking the communities. Technical assistance will be provided to communities for capacity building, and identified waterfront communities in Clinton and Essex counties will be assisted in the development of community vision, priority projects and action plan for implementation.
