Albany Community Action Partnership (ACAP) SNAP Opportunities Program
The Albany Community Action Partnership (ACAP) and its partner, the Schenectady Community Action Program (SCAP), will operate a Career Readiness program focused on issues faced by low-income residents in the Capital District Region's most disadvantaged, distressed locations. As partners, ACAP and SCAP will build upon each agency's existing experience and program base to strengthen workforce development opportunities for low-income residents. Program components will include: training, skills development and career readiness, as well as job search, placement, support and retention services to ensure that these residents are afforded the opportunity to become part of the area's economic revitalization. Occupational training will focus on in-demand occupations and career pathways in industries such as healthcare, transportation, culinary arts/hospitality and custodial/maintenance. The outcome will be increased opportunities for low-income residents, increased self-reliance and a prepared workforce.
