Buffalo Central Terminal Canopy Restoration

The Central Terminal Restoration Corp., Inc. (CTRC) will rehabilitate and restore two entryway canopies located at the historic Buffalo Central Terminal. The disrepair and instability of the exterior entryway canopies poses a safety hazard for patrons, tourists and volunteers and requires immediate rehabilitation. If not immediately restored, loss of the canopies is imminent and the CTRC may be forced to permanently close these entries, thereby restricting public access to the building. This will reduce or eliminate the CTRC?s ability to open the building to the public. The proposed project will restore two of four original ornamental canopies: one located above the west departures entry and one located above the northwest departures entry. HHL Architects has developed a restoration plan for this project and cost estimates have been secured.
