2015 CFA Toolkit

The Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) gives economic development project applicants expedited and streamlined access to a combined pool of grant money and tax credits from dozens of New York State programs. The 2015 Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) will accept applications from Friday, May 1, 2015 to July 31, 2015 at 4:00pm (no late submissions). This year marks Round V of the Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) CFA initiative. To continue to motivate investment opportunities and job creation, the REDCs will compete for up to $220 million from Empire State Development ($150 million in capital funds and $70 million in Excelsior Tax Credits) for projects and activities identified by the Councils as priorities in their regions. Additionally, up to $530 million from dozens of state agency programs will be awarded through the CFA process.

The 2015 REDC competition will focus on:

  • Regional Industry Clusters;
  • Global NY;
  • Project Pipeline;
  • Strategic Plan Implementation;
  • Workforce Development;
  • Performance Measures; and
  • Ongoing state priorities and regional initiatives.

    Attend CFA Workshops Workshops will be hosted in Western New York to provide an overview of the Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) process. There will be informational breakout sessions on specific areas of funding available for economic development projects. The training workshops are open to local economic development officials, municipalities, non-profits, businesses and members of the public. Click here for 2015 workshop dates/locations.
    Demonstrate Alignment with Regional Plan Projects must demonstrate alignment with the goals and strategies within the WNY REDC Plan, “A Strategy for Prosperity”. It is highly recommended that applicants review the goals, strategies & criteria for projects in the Strategic Plan, in addition to the slate of previously supported projects in each of the annual Progress Reports.
