The Frederic Church Center is a sustainably designed, carbon neutral visitor center at the Olana State Historic Site. The Center is the threshold to an immersive visitor experience of Olana as a unique, world-class carbon neutral travel destination at the intersection of American art and environmental consciousness.
The all-electric facility includes a spacious entry lobby for ticketing and orientation, a café, restrooms, and a multipurpose room adjoining outdoor terraces and paths that connect to Olana’s historic carriage road network, incorporating all 250 acres of the historic landscape. It serves as the principal entry point for a National Historic Landmark and New York State Historic Site that attracts more than 200,000 visitors annually. The project was supported by funding from multiple State agencies, including a $1.4 million Market New York capital grant.
Throughout 2026, Olana will be commemorating the 200th anniversary of Frederic Church’s birth with special exhibits and events.
